Grady 'Loyd' Mcentire

Grady Loyd McEntire, 71 of Indianapolis passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012. He was born in Chimes, Arkansas on May 31, 1941 to Grady Marshall and Doris Cooper McEntire. He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson. Surviving to cherish Loyd's memory are Lori L. Jacobson, his love and partner of thirty years, his son and daughter-in-law, Grady L. and Christine McEntire, his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa J. and James Timberman, two sisters and their husbands, May and Kenny Morris and Violet and Leon Horton. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Megan, Morgan, Demi, Sam, Riley, Emily and Max, as well as seven nephews and seven nieces. Loyd worked in the construction business for fifty years. He was an avid fisherman, qualifying for national bass tournaments numerous times. His family would like to extend special thanks to Diane and Ginny, day nurses at St. Vincent Hospice. "Thank you for being what all nurses should be, caring, compassionate and conscientious. Please know that your presence gave the family peace of mind." In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Loyd's name to the American Cancer Society – Thyroid Cancer Research, 5635 W. 96th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278 or to the American Diabetes Association, 5110 Commerce Square Drive, Suites F & G, Indianapolis, IN 46237. Friends may call from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN with the service being held at 3:00 PM.
