Glenda “Kay” Bittorie passed away at home, surrounded by family on March 27, 2023. She was born in Gamaliel, KY on November 2, 1948, to her parents Ether and Hazel Davis. She married the love of her life, John Bittorie, on July 2, 1966, in Indianapolis, IN. They have been married for 56 wonderful years.
Throughout her life, Kay worked as a paralegal as well as a real estate agent. She also had various hobbies that she greatly enjoyed, such as baking, travelling, genealogy, and collecting various memorabilia. She loved collecting Mickey Mouse themed items. She also adored watching Western movies and television shows such as Gunsmoke and Wagon Train. She travelled to all 50 states and many countries abroad. She and John created many memories while enjoying trips as a couple.
Kay had many things she loved and enjoyed in her life, but above all of those things, she loved her family most of all. She was known as the icon of her family. Her kind and beautiful smile never failed to light up the room. She was an amazing person, and she will be sorely missed by everyone that had the honor to know her.
Kay is survived by her adoring husband; daughters Shelley Bittorie (Henry Brigmond), Tara Scarborough (Alan); her siblings, Steve Davis, Sherii Pruitt, Candi Huxford (Steve); grandchildren Jennifer May Clark (Brett), Jonathan May, Alex Scarborough, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Her mother and father-in-law Minnie and John Bittorie; and sister-in-law Sharon Dooley.
Funeral services will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street Indianapolis IN 46229 on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, with visitation and services from 12pm-2pm then with Funeral Service beginning at 2pm. Kay will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
