Glenda Joyce Jackson 62, Indianapolis, was called home on July 16, 2011 to continue her work as a prayer warrior for God. The Alpha 1 disease that Joyce so bravely fought for many years took her life. Joyce was born on September 9, 1948 in Stockport, Ohio to the late Max and Dorothy (Wallace) Ewart. She was in customer service for JDS Uniphase for 35 years, retiring in 2009. Joyce was a longtime, devoted member of the Southwood Baptist Church, where she was active as a sunday school teacher and a prayer warrior. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, George Cecil Jackson; sons, Todd (wife, Marcia) Castner and Troy (wife, Mare) Castner; grandchildren, Tiffany, Trenten, Marlee and Alexis; sister, Joann Wallace and brother, Max (wife, Ann) Ewart. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jay and Joe Ewart. Joyce will leave fond memories with everyone she touched and she will be missed. Services for Joyce will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Memorial Park, with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday (TODAY), July 18. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southwood Baptist Church, 504 S. 4th St., Beech Grove, IN 46107.
