Glen Earl Jensen, 91, a long-time resident of Carmel, died March 6, 2015. He was born in Crystal Lake, Iowa, to Nelia and Elmer Jensen, on November 5, 1923.
Mr. Jensen was a Navy veteran of World War II. As a carrier-based fighter pilot, he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and three Air Medals for actions in the Philippine Islands, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa.
He was a 1950 graduate of Iowa State University Ames, Iowa.
He was Chief Landscape Architect for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, retiring in 1989. In this capacity he was responsible for the planning and design of many of Indiana's State Parks and Recreation Areas.
He was an active member of All Souls Unitarian Church in Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marian. He is survived by their three children: Cynthia Brock, Goleta CA; Lizabeth Jenson, Gillette WY; and Chris Jensen, Indianapolis. He has five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Flanner and Buchanan - Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, on Saturday, March 28, at 12:00 noon. Interment at Crystal Lake Cemetery will follow at a later date.
