Gleela Beth Garris Baldwin Age 84, Zionsville -- deeply loved mother, wife, sister, and grandmother -- passed away September 23, 2011. She was born in Hamilton County, Indiana, on December 23, 1926, to Emery and Helen Garris. She grew up on a farm near Fortville, Indiana. She graduated from Fortville High School. After school she worked as a bookkeeper at the B.B. Kirkbride Bible Company and Central Indiana Coal Company where she met her future husband who was the love of her life. She married Robert Ashton Baldwin on June 25, 1950 and they had five children who were raised in Washington Township in Indianapolis. Her life was focused on providing constant unconditional love to her entire family, being a supporting wife, raising her children and supporting them in all of their endeavors unselfishly and with a servant's heart. She loved to have the entire family together for family activities. She was known for having a smile on her face, which beamed when she was together with family members. She was a devoted grandmother and tireless baby sitter to her 12 grandchildren when they were young, and loved spending time with them as they grew up. She consistently maintained a remarkable positive attitude with contentment in all aspects of life and was an exceptionally kind person who was a great role model for her family. For more than thirty years she and her family were active members of North Tacoma Christian Church and Castleton Christian Church after the two churches combined. For over twenty years she pursued her love for children while serving others by actively working in and ensuring the successful operation of the churchs' nursery program. She also volunteered in senior services at the church driving the elderly. Later in life, she was an active member of Hazel Dell Christian Church and its predecessor Woodland Springs Christian Church and attended St. Luke's Methodist Church. She also volunteered at the John Strange School library. Gleela was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert A. Baldwin. She is survived by her son David, (Sharon), grandchildren Michael, Andrew and Jonathan Baldwin, daughter Beth McGill, (Jeff), grandchildren, Ryan, Jason and Meghan McGill, son Steve (Xia), son Bruce (Debbie), grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan and Jacob Baldwin, daughter Susan Bravard (Charles), grandchildren Emily, Nicholas and Caroline Bravard, sisters Ruth Boram and Virginia Kemerly.
