Glee Hook Tilson, age 79, of Bloomington, Indiana, went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, Dec. 27th. She was surrounded by her entire family as she peacefully passed away. She was born January, 21, 1935 in Bloomington, IN;
the first born of Ralph and Lucile Hook. She was a lifelong resident of
the state of Indiana and a proud Hoosier. Glee received her Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in Home Economics Education and her Masters of Arts degree in Guidance and Counseling from Butler University.
Glee was a lifelong educator, retiring from South Wayne Jr. High School in Indianapolis, Indiana after many years of service.
Throughout her life, Glee was a faithful member of the Episcopal Church.
Belonging to numerous organizations and committees within the Church, Glee most fondly remembered her time serving on the Alter Guild and with the Daughters of the King. In her free time, Glee was an avid quilter and gardener. Those who know Glee, well appreciate her special talent for
making pies and cookies. She was happiest when spending time with her
loved ones.
She is survived by her daughter Annabel Lawson Smith and son-in-law Kevin Smith of Bloomington, IN; her daughter Lucile Tilson Harlan and son-in-law Thomas Boenitz of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren, Benjamin C. Lawson and his wife Sara G. Ronald, Gregory A. Lawson, William K. Harlan and his wife Amber Harlan, and Samuel A. Harlan; one great-grandson Malcom Harlan; and her brother, John F. Hook of Cicero, IN.
Visitation and Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 1402 West Main St., Carmel, IN 46032. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 am. Third St. Bloomington, IN 47401 or St.
Richards Episcopal School, 33 East 33rd St. Indianapolis, IN 46205. Faith based education was Glee's passion and her grandsons attended both of these schools.
