Gilda Ruth Marion

Gilda Ruth Bartley Marion, 90, a loving mother and friend, died April 12, 2022, in her home with her daughter by her side.

Born October 5, 1931, in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee to Charlie and Lucy Bartley, she was a resident of Indianapolis for 70 years where she met her husband of 53 years, Vesper.

Gilda loved gardening and sharing her flowers with all of her friends and family. Her flower gardens were always an asset to the neighborhood.

A devoted Christian Servant, she served in the nursery at church for over 20 years. She is a member of Lakeview Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vesper, brothers John Bartley, Joe Bartley, Hugh Edward Bartley, Bobby Bartley, and sister Mary Lee.

Surviving are her daughters Kathy Meiring, Nancy (Roger) Young, Lisa Marion, and son Denton Marion; four grandchildren Jason Meiring, Stacy (Greg) Johnson, Jennifer (James) Pruitt, Laura Young; three step-grandchildren Pat and Ryan Young and Sue (Ron) Erickson; four great-grandchildren Jordan (Preston) Fennel, James (Destiny) Pruitt, Rebecca Pruitt, and Cheyanne Meiring; 8 step-great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren Charleigh and Lennox Fennell, and Henry Pruitt; her brothers Junior, Roy (Trisha), and Doyle Bartley; sister Naomi West; and many nieces and nephews.
