Giacinda "Cindy" Krauthamer

September 25, 1925 — March 13, 2024

New Palestine

Giacinda “Cindy” Krauthamer, 98, of New Palestine went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. She was born on September 25, 1925, in Indianapolis, Indiana to her parents, Attilio “Paul” and Gladys Benassi. Cindy’s career started in the 1940’s with Remington Rand, and she quickly proved herself as a Data Entry Specialist. Her thoroughness provided opportunities to continue her career at IBM and even the State House, processing their payroll. In later years, she went on to work in the Administrative Building for Warren Township Schools, inputting various important data, such as grades and schedules. She even taught Data Entry at the Warren Township Career Center. Outside of her career, Cindy enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and crafting. She was even talented in the kitchen, cooking for her family and loved ones. Although all her dishes were loved, her specialty was definitely her Italian Spaghetti. In 1953, Cindy married the love of her life, Harold Krauthamer. Together they spent 65 years of marriage, creating a life built on a foundation of the love they shared with one another. Cindy’s faith in God was unwavering. She was a long-time member of Heather Hills Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, and in recent years a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church in Cumberland, Indiana. Cindy’s greatest accomplishment in her life was undoubtedly her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Cindy’s spirit will be missed by those who were lucky enough to experience it.

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Attilio “Paul” and Gladys Benassi; her loving husband, Harold Krauthamer; and her siblings, Paul Benassi, Regina Opal Ader, Denzel Benassi, and Robert.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Connie (Ron) Wood, Michael Krauthamer; her bonus children, John (Chris) Wood and Larry Perardi whom she loved like her own; her grandson, Jeff (Wendie) Wood; her bonus grandchildren, Dawn (Greg)Sethman, and Doug Wood; her great-grandchildren, Thomas Wood and Declan Wood; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 4-8PM at Flanner Buchanan—Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229. Additional visitation will be held the following day from 10AM-11AM, with a funeral service beginning at 11AM. Cindy will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery.
