Gertrude Trudy Shinkle

G. Gertrude "Trudy" Shinkle 84, of Danville, died February 21, 2015. Loving mother, sister and grandmother, Trudy was born April 3, 1930 in Russell Springs, KY to Eldred and Ada Belle Burton. After the death of her husband Dick, she raised her two sons Richard and Gary and went to work as a secretary for Mussett Nicholas and Associates for many years, retiring in 1994. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Pacers and Colts and Atlanta Braves. She also enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family. She is survived by her sons Richard (Connie) Shinkle, Gary Shinkle; a sister Barbara McKamey and grandchildren Lisa, Tammy, Gary Jr. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1-3pm at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Floral Park, with services to follow Thursday at 3pm in the funeral center. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made in her memory to the Arthritis Foundation.
