Gertrude Julia "Gig" Crouch 94, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Northwest Manor Healthcare Center. She was born on February 10, 1918 and graduated from Manual High School in 1935. Gig was married to Robert H. Crouch on December 23, 1942. She was a current member of Highland Golf and Country Club and enjoyed many summer vacation with family and friends in Treasure Island, FL. However, her true joy came from spending time with her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Gig is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Bob "Pap" Crouch; son, Robert I. (Carolyn) Crouch of Largo, FL; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and former daughter-in-law, Justine Crouch. Gig was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Ann Crowe; and grandson, Steven Bradley Crowe. As per her wishes, there will be no calling or funeral service, but a Celebration of Life service will be held in her honor on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 2pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gig's name to her favorite charity, The Indianapolis Junior Golf Foundation at 4501 W. Vermont St. Indianapolis, IN 46222. Gig's family would like to thank her caregivers at Northwest Manor for their genuine care and compassion.
