Gerri Giles

Gerri Giles, 71, Lebanon, passed away July 24, 2021. She was born in Livingston, TN to Hollis Young and Jessie Mae (Warden) Dodson. After graduating from Zionville High School, she went on to work for 32 years in the retail field, before retiring from the Wishard Gift Shop as Manager-Buyer. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading books and doing crossword puzzles, but what she cherished most was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Gerri was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ronald Jerry Giles, and brother, Jim Dodson.
Survivors include her sons, David Strawmyer, Mark (Angie) Strawmyer, Jeff (Rubeena) Strawmyer, grandchildren, Jordan Strawmyer, Josh Strawmyer, Brady Strawmyer, Abby Strawmyer, Wyatt Strawmyer, brother, Earl (Nancy) Dodson, and sister, Maxine Dodson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the local animal shelter of your choice.
Visitation will be held Saturday July 31st at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis from 10:30a – 12:30p. A private funeral service and burial will follow. Online condolences may be shared at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
