Geraldine A. Sullivan - Jarman

June 10, 1945 — August 15, 2025

Indianapolis, IN

Geraldine (Jeri) Ann Sullivan Jarman was born June 10, 1945. She joined her parents, siblings, aunts and uncles, and other family members in the arms of God on August 15, 2025, the day Catholics rejoice in the Assumption of our Holy Mother Mary into Heaven.

Jeri was born in Philadelphia, PA, the first child of Geraldine Ann Calhoun Sullivan and Gerard John Sullivan. Nine more siblings followed, but Jeri was always the General, the one in charge. Jeri graduated from Marian High School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in 1963. She was known for her sharp fashion sense, her humor, her intellect and classic beauty.

Jeri worked as a reservation's agent for United Airlines, where she met Daniel Jarman while working on an incentive trip to Spain. They married on June 7, 1969 in Birmingham, Michigan. They had five children: Daniel Jr. (Anna), Kathleen Rose (Jason), Kevin, Erin Shouse (Jeremy) and Meigan. The family lived in Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Maryland, Florida and finally returned to Indiana where Jeri remained for the rest of her life.

Jeri was one of the most beloved people you would meet, and she loved us all. She was a cherished mother to not only her five children, but many other kids who found their way to her open door and loving household over the years. She also welcomed many stray animals as she gave countless cats a home, but she absolutely loved her big Newfoundlands and Saint Bernards, and Ed the Wonder Dog.

Although she started her college experience at Michigan State after graduating high school, her life’s adventures lured her away. She eventually did complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Marian College in 2002. She loved to learn, and we were all very proud of her for pursuing this accomplishment.

Jeri loved to travel, and she collected treasures and memories from places all over the world. She loved her plants and flowers. She loved reading, and she had hundreds of books on her shelves as well as hundreds more on her beloved Kindle. Jeri loved road trips, the mountains and the ocean. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially eating ice cream with her grandchildren while watching planes take off and land at the small airport near her home. She was a foodie before there were foodies. Her love of food and fine, fun dining lives on at Geraldine’s Supper Club & Lounge in the Fountain Square neighborhood of Indianapolis.

Jeri is survived by her five children and ten grandchildren: Peyton, Ethan, Griffin, Gavin, Daniel, Marlo, Briley, Wilhelmina, Emmeline, and Austin. Also surviving are five siblings: Mike, Tim, Terry and Kevin Sullivan, and Mary Ann Sullivan Moore. With drinks in hand, her parents and four of her brothers and sisters greeted her: Gerard Jr. (Sully), John, Pat and Tom, along with her niece Andrea, her nephew Collin and all four of her grandparents, and uncles and aunts.

There will be a visitation for friends and family beginning at 10am on Friday, August 22, 2025, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis. A Christian mass will follow at 11am. Burial will occur at a later date at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please donate your time or money to an animal shelter of your choice in Jeri’s honor.
