Geraldine P. Polak took the hand of Jesus as He led her home Wednesday, November 6, 2013. She lived life to the fullest, taking care of her husband and three children. She truly was a multi-tasker before multi-tasking was even heard of. Geri was involved in all of her children's lives, whether it was camping with Sandy, taking, picking up and attending Greg's ball games (she played softball at St. Albans with Richard Lugar when he first became mayor in a Mothers Softball Game). She brought up her youngest, Kim, to be self-sufficient, confident and compassionate. She was very instrumental in her husband's success in business.
She is preceded in passing by her husband, Wayne Wesley Polak, one brother, Joe and two sisters, Laverne and Phyllis. She is survived by, her children, Sandra L. (Dean) Brooking, Gregory W. (AJ) Polak and Kimberly L. (Dan) Spiker, grandsons, Joshua (Tina) Moline, Chad (Lauren) Polak, Bradley (Suzy) Spiker, and granddaughters, Melyssa Polak, Megan Spiker and Victoria Polak. Geri had her first great-grandson, Noah Bradley Spiker, four months ago.
Our mom was (is) one of a kind. We will miss our Christmas Eves, Kruschiki, Kielbasa, and her famous pork, sauerkraut and dumpling dinner.
