Geraldine 'Gerry' Carter

Geraldine "Gerry" Carter, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away March 21, 2014. Gerry was born March 19, 1928 in Sapulpa, OK, the daughter of Chester C. and Naomi (Mace) Hyatt. She had been a clerk at Brock's Drug Store and a member of Eastside Exchange Club and Brookside Order of the Easter Star. Gerry is survived by her husband, Deo T. Carter of Indianapolis; son, James D. Carter (Janet) of Indianapolis; daughters Cathy L. Carroll (Robert) of Albemarle, NC, Pamela J. McLaughlin (Joseph) of Westerville, OH and Susan L. Bales of Suitland, MD; her brother, Vernon Wayne Hyatt (Marie) of Indianapolis; 6 grandchildren, Kim Lane (Mike), Kristie Carroll, Megan Emanuel (Matt), Madison McLaughlin, Cassandra and Derron Bales; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ryan Lane and Emily Emanuel. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 12:00-2:00 PM, at Flanner and Buchanan - Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals.
