Gerald Hansen

Gerald “Jerry” D. Hansen, 55, Indianapolis, passed away October 13, 2017. He was born November 27, 1961, in Blue Island, IL, the son of the late John “Jack” and Rosemarie (Toborg) Hansen. He married Shannon Weisheit on October 28, 1995.

Jerry graduated from Lewis University. He was an aviation mechanic for the last 20 years for FedEx. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Jerry was truly a “Jack-of- all-trades”, excelling at anything with an engine, airbrushing, or home projects. He loved his Harleys and customizing cars and motorcycles for family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Shannon Hansen; three children, Steven Weisheit, Katlynn Hansen, and Jonathan Hansen; two sisters, Chris (John) Strewe and Dawn (Steve) Malits; and nephew, Darien Malits; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Alice Weisheit. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Cathy Hansen; and infant nephew, Hunter Malits.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at the funeral home.
