Gerald Glenn “Jerry” Morris, 66, of Indianapolis passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021. He was born on October 22, 1954 in Monticello, KY to the late Neal and Oma Maxine (Pyles) Morris. Jerry relocated with his family to Indianapolis at a young age and he attended Warren Central High School. It was there that he met the love of his life, Jody Washburn and they were married on March 16, 1974.
Jerry is a proud veteran of the USAF and was honorably discharged in 1978 with the rank of Sergeant. He worked for many years at Rolls Royce, retiring as a Maintenance Supervisor in 2015. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed shooting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed his collection of model cars, but was most content at home with his family and pets.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Jody Morris; sons, Sean (Holly Mount) Morris, Nathan (Marcia) Morris and Dustin (Amber) Morris; grandchildren, Brandon (Cameron McClure) Morris, Drew (Christina) Morris, Ashton Morris, Ayden Morris, Ethan Morris, Maddie Mount, Mila Jo Morris; great-granddaughters, Braelynn and Briella Morris. Jerry is also survived by his sister, Shari ‘Sam’ Jardina and her husband, Eric.
Jerry had a soft spot for animals and also leaves behind his canine companions, Cooper, Kimber and Riley; grand-dogs, Loxley, Chase, Trudy, Joey and Maya; and feline friend, Milo.
Jerry will be laid to rest privately in Washington Park East Cemetery. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
