Gerald C. Tekulve, age 67, of Indianapolis, Ind., died on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at his residence. Born on July 23, 1944 in Batesville, Ind. he was the son of the late Charles A. and Maxine (Miller) Tekulve.
A 1962 graduate of Batesville High School, he went on to earn a degree from Lane College in mechanical engineering. He worked for J.C. Wilson Engineering for more than 20 years where he was involved with the space shuttle program. He retired from Mitchum Schaefer. A lifetime resident of Indianapolis, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Antelope Club and the Maple Creek Country Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Anna M. Little, Indianapolis; son, David M. Tekulve, Indianapolis; step-daughters, Barbara (Copenhaver) Hook and Shelley (Chad) Copenhaver-Helmrick; step-brother, Ed D'Amour; and grandchildren, Nicole (Kyle) Little - Wojcik, Dawn Little, Jeremiah Erisman, Nicole Erisman-Simpson, and Hanna and Logan Helmrick; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn (Ray) Tekulve and second wife, Nancy C. Tekulve; and parents, Charles A. and Maxine Tekulve.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan - Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis. Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials in Mr. Tekulve's memory may be made to Community Home Health Services – Hospice Care. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
