GEORGE WEBER, 88 George Weber, 88, of Martinsville, Indiana died on January 7, 2013, at the home of his daughter, Deborah Lacher of Minerva, Ohio. He was born May 7, 1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents Anna Oswald and Harry Weber. He married Mary Elizabeth Elder on October 2, 1945. He was preceded in death by his wife, ten siblings, and several nephews and nieces. His surviving family includes his daughter Deborah (Dan) Lacher of Minerva, Ohio, three granddaughters; Melanie (Antonio) Host of Alliance, Ohio, Christi Cole of Ravenna, Ohio, and Janna (John) Crookham of Ravenna, Ohio, and three great-grandchildren Antonio, Taylor and Mandy Host, many beloved nephews and nieces, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, friends and neighbors. George was a lifelong resident of Indiana, having been born in Indianapolis. George was a World War II veteran having served in the Air Force. He was a longtime employee of the General Motors division of the Allison plant, having retired after 35 years. He liked to work in his yard, garden and enjoyed spending time with his family. George was an avid woodworker and has made some very beautiful pieces over the years. He also loved to fish and never missed his annual trip to Reelfoot Lake, Tennessee which has been a family tradition for over 30 years. George was a man that had a very big heart and always had a smile on his face. He loved his family and always extended a helping hand. Visitation is from 11am to noon on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park (425 Holt Rd.) with the funeral service directly following. Burial will be at Floral Park.
