George Shelton, Jr.
90, Indianapolis, passed away on January 31, 2012. George was born on January 8, 1922 in Whitley County, KY. George served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was thought to the be the last surviving member of the Rainbow Division. He retired as a route driver with ARA Vending and was a member of the Teamsters Local and of the Forresters.
Survivors include wife, Ellen (Griffey) Shelton; children, Patricia (Robert) Ouellette and Douglas Shelton; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 in Flanner and Buchanan - Memorial Park , 9350 E. Washington Street. Revs. Charles Riggs and Harold Nolan will officiate. Visitation will precede the service from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Burial with military honors will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
