George Paton Scott, 92, of Zionsville, died March 22, 2013. George was born June 23, 1920 in Indianapolis to Paul and Ellis Paton Scott; they preceded him in death as did his beloved wife of 62 years, Wilma "City" Burden Scott who died February 24, 2004.
Mr. Scott faithfully served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He retired in 1981 from Detroit Diesel Allison where he was a blade/vein maker. George was the longest tenured living member of Charles F. Frank Masonic Lodge No. 760 in Zionsville having been a Mason almost 71 years. He also was the oldest living member of American Legion Post No. 79 in Zionsville.
Mr. Scott is survived by his daughter, Tracey Scott; his son, George P. Scott II (Sherrie); his grandchildren, Annie McNaughton (Bill), Rachel Weber (Tim), and Erin Webb (Darren). He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Kennedy, Triston, Ethan, Abigail, Aubrey, and Colin.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Monday, March 25, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Zionsville with an American Legion service at 8:00 pm and Masonic Funeral Rites at 8:15 pm. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, March 26, 2013 also at Flanner and Buchanan-Zionsville. Burial will follow with Army honors at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown.
