George M. Hurt, Jr. 89, of Indianapolis, passed away March 23, 2013. He was born December 7, 1923 in Indianapolis, IN to the late George M. Hurt Sr and ReJane (Bowman) Wohlfeld. George received his Bachelor's Degree of Engineering from Purdue University. George proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired from General Motors after 36 years of dedicated service. He loved his church, photography, playing golf, and traveling. George was Director of the Rules Committee for the annual South Haven Family Golf Tournament. He lived a life filled with family, friends and laughter. George was preceded in death by his son, Larry Hurt (Tom McTamney). He leaves a loving wife of 66 years, Helen (Brinkworth) Hurt; daughters, Leslie White (David), Gayle Pulliam (Bill), and Janet Kincaid (Brian); brother, Jack Hurt (Dena); sister, Henrietta Armstrong; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Friends may call Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North , 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46228. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 5301 West 16th Street, Speedway, IN with one hour of calling prior to service. Entombment will be in Washington Park North Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the: Larry Hurt Memorial Young Artist Fund c/o Wayne Township Education Foundation 1155 S. High School Rd.
