George M. Cantrell

George Michael Cantrell, 76, of Greenfield, passed away March 17^th, 2023. He was born in Indianapolis, March 31^st, 1946, to parents Charlie and Beulah (Whitson) Cantrell.

He graduated from Warren Central high school and completed his apprenticeship for machine repair.

George worked as a machine repairman at Ford for over 35 years, until he retired.

On September 25^th, 2009, he married Diana Smith. They shared 14 wonderful years together.

George was a strong, loving gentleman. There was nothing he couldn’t fix, from household appliances to car motors. He always enjoyed working with his hands and took pride in keeping his yard landscaped. George was a valued member of the Masonic Lodge and D-56ers Christmas Village Club of Greenfield. He and Diana loved to travel.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Diana; his daughters Yvonne (Joe) Hatfield and Rachel Cantrell; all his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings Wayne (Nina) Cantrell, Sherri (The Late Winford) Shepherd, and Ricky Cantrell.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
