George L. Wiley, 83 of Carmel, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 at his home. George was born August 17, 1928 in Kokomo, IN to the late Chester Lloyd and Priscilla Marie King Wiley. He served in the US Air Force as an aerial photographer. George was an architect, retiring in 1992. He had worked for various firms including Geupel Demars and Garns and Moore. George was a member of Hazel Dell Christian Church and Meridian Hills Kiwanis. He was a member emeritus of American Institute of Architects. He served as a Boy Scout leader and little league coach. He was a previous member of Traders Point Christian Church where he assisted in the building design. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Friday, September 30 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Carmel, where friends and family are invited to gather Thursday, September 29 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. George an avid reader and artist is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean; children, Mark (wife, Debbie), Michael L. (wife, Sylvia), Tim L. (wife, Amy); 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
