George L. Thornton

George L. Thornton 83 of Indianapolis, passed away August 4, 2011. He was born on June 6, 1928 in San Diego, CA. George retired from Warren Township Schools and was a member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church and attended More Than Church United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge and American Legion at Whiteland. Survivors: wife, Rosalie (Tague) Thornton; children, Margaret (James) Catt, Gary (Beth) Thornton, Susan (William) Hackett, Joy Ann Jones and George Thornton, Jr.; sister, Eleanor McDougal; grandchildren, Jacob (Niki), Jeffrey, Matthew (Megan), Andrew and Erik; great grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Chloee and Aileigh. Visitation will be on Monday, August 8, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center – Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the funeral center. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
