George David Wehrmeister

George Wehrmeister, 83, passed away on January 7^th, 2022. He was born June 1^st, 1938 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Alva and Elda Wehrmeister.

He was a well-known teacher, football, basketball and golf coach loved in the Fort Wayne area. When out and about, someone always knew “Big George”. George has now been reunited with his wife of 55 years, Marian Wehrmeister, who proceeded him in death in 2019.

George is survived by his children Heidi (Ken) Arnett, Gretchen (Dean) Spires, and Christopher (Erica) Wehrmeister; grandchildren Jessica (Pierce) Ebinger, Andrew (Nicole) Arnett, Garrett Spires, Jackson Spires, Lauren Spires, and Lucy Wehrmeister; and great-grandchildren Kennedy Ebinger and Ella Arnett. Funeral services are private.
