George David Knoble passed away on September 27, 2022 due to Lewy Body Dementia. He was born in Jefferson County, Kentucky on December 14, 1945. He was raised by his parents James and Dorothy Long.
George graduated from Baptist Bible college as well as the Latin College of Indianapolis. He worked at Outboard Marine Corporation for 20 years. George also served in the U.S. Navy as a dental technician. He was also a member of Irvington Presbyterian Church.
He married the love of his life, Suzanne Hoover on January 11, 1969, after meeting while they both attended IUPUI. Together, they built a life and a family, and had their daughter in 1974.
George retired from Indianapolis Public Schools as a bus driver. He loved to fish in his spare time. He was also a non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer Survivor. He will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him.
George is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Knoble; his daughter, Megan Knoble; his sisters, Rena Marshall, Laura Leytham, Nancy Stepp; and his sisters-in-law, Sherry Schropp, and Sonja Kerrihard of Peoria IL.
He is preceded in passing by his parents, James Long and Dorothy Booth Long.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Irvington Presbyterian Church, 55 Johnson Ave.,Indpls. IN, on Friday, October 7th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a Memorial Service to follow. Washington Park East Cemetery will be the final resting place.
