Genevieve C. Davenport

Genevieve C. Davenport of Indianapolis, died October 17, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 91. Genevieve graduated from the Methodist School of Nursing in 1942. She spent most of her career at Community Hospital East retiring in 1980. She enjoyed traveling and crossword puzzles. Genevieve is survived by her children Peggy Scott, William R. (Judy) Davenport, Rex W. (Elizabeth) Davenport, Janet A. Miller, and Jill (Mark) Buchanan; grandchildren Mike Scott, Kevin Scott, Chad Davenport, Ashley Leaver, Keely Sims, Kristine Wade, Lauren Stutsman, Grant Miller, Casey Buchanan and Kelly Buchanan; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack E. Davenport in 2000 and siblings Olga Kennedy and Eleanor Tomlinson. A Memorial Gathering will be held Monday, October 22 from 6 to 7 PM at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St, Indianapolis with a Memorial Service beginning at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 8440 Woodfield Crossing Boulevard, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
