With our hearts full of sorrow, we announce the passing of Geneva Levena Jones, 80 of Indianapolis, Indiana. As she peacefully slept, she was welcomed into God’s loving embrace on May 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, good moral character, faith, and a deep love for life.
With humble beginnings, she was born in Rockhold, KY, into a large family with 4 sisters and 2 brothers. After graduating high school, she moved to Indiana and began her life-long career with Indiana Bell. She soon met the love of her life, Floyd, and they eloped in Tennessee on March 14, 1988. After retiring, they both moved to Monticello, Kentucky to live on Floyd’s family farm and were married for 31 years.
As a devoted follower of Christ, her faith played an integral part of her life. She taught Sunday school and often volunteered her time in many ways to her church and community.
She had an extraordinary talent for finding joy in the small things whether she was in her garden planting flowers, painting, or spending time with friends and family. She was an avid reader and loved to sing with her sisters and they were known as the “Harp Trio”. She collected nativity sets and figurines from Precious Moments. She cherished spending time with her sisters. After retiring, she most enjoyed doing puzzles and playing solitaire.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents (Clifford & Marie Harp), devoted husband (Floyd Jones), sisters (Virginia Julian & Bonnie Philputt), brothers (Raymond Harp & Damond Harp).
Geneva is survived by her loving sisters, Mildred McClary & Betty Corbett; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She will remain in the hearts and minds of all who were blessed by her presence and her memory will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive guests on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 11 am - 2 pm at Flanner Buchanan in Geist, located at 7855 Cork Road, Indianapolis, IN 46236 with a celebration of life prayer service at 2 pm.
