Gene Ottis Arvin

Gene Ottis Arvin, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away October 10, 2019, in the comfort of his home.   He was born March 12, 1938, in Daviess County, Indiana.  One of fourteen children born to Ottis and Leona Arvin.

Gene is survived by his wife of 57 years, Thelma Porter Arvin, daughters Sheila Arvin and Sheryl Sharpe (husband, Daniel); son Bud Arvin (wife, Cindy); grandsons Benjamin Sharpe (wife, Ashlen) and Ethan Sharpe; granddaughter Lily Arvin; brother Maurice (wife, Beverly); sisters Galelah Tedrow (late husband, Walter) and Linda Fitch (husband, Dan); sister-in-law Lucy Arvin; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Corrinna, Dovie, and Donna; brothers: Jack, Clyde, Linus, Leslie, Max, Danny, and Vaughn.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019, from 12-2 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, with a service following at 2 pm.
