Gene D. Kemp

Gene Darrell Kemp, Age 88 of Ava, IL, formerly of Indianapolis, passed October 21, 2012. Gene worked at Conrail for 37 years retired in 1984. Gene loved to travel to Historical sites and loved to camp as he traveled. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs Fan. Gene also served as a volunteer for several years in the mail room at Community Hospital East. He is survived by his children, Gerry, Kirk, Douglas (Cheryl Owen) and Jay Kemp, stepdaughter Linda Shearon, stepson Edward Malone, grandchildren Chris, Benjamin, and Lauren, 6 step grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street from 11 am untill time of service at 1 pm.
