Gene Paul Babinec, 89, of Noblesville, Indiana, previously Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully in his home on March 10, 2024. 

Gene was born in Newport, Kentucky on October 16, 1934, to George and Mary Babinec. Gene attended Arsenal Tech High School before studying Engineering at Purdue University. After graduating from Purdue University, Gene served six years in the United States Navy on the USS Larson as a Radio Mechanic. After returning home from service, Gene served as Director of Quality Control at JENN-AIR, Vice President of Atrium Structures, before finally retiring from Lawyer Manufacturing as a Product Engineer. Gene was a founding member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church at Geist and an avid member of Holy Spirit’s choir. 

Gene was preceded in death by his father and mother, George and Mary Babinec, and is survived by his wife, Victoria Ann (Simpson) Babinec; his three sons, Gene Babinec II (Lisa), Gary Babinec (Monica), Gregory Babinec (Shanda), and his daughter, Kathryn Chandler (Jay); his twelve grandchildren; and his twenty-three great-grandchildren. 

Visitation for Gene will be from 10a-11am on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist – 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, IN 46037, with a funeral mass immediately following at 11am. Entombment will take place at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
