Gayron Anthony Shackelford,
Resident of Elkhart, Indiana passed away on 26th of July, 2013. Gayron was born on the 5th of June, 1961 in Carrollton, Georgia to the loving parents of Shirley L. Shackelford-Pitts (deceased) and Jimmy Shackelford (deceased).
Gayron grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. After high school he attended Vincennes University majoring in Drafting and Design Technology. He also attended ITT Technical Institute where he received a certificate in Electronics and Technology, and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen School, to become a certified Locomotive Engineer for Norfolk Southern in Elkhart Indiana, dedicating nineteen years of service. He was known to his friends and colleagues as "Shack". Gayron touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and trademark sense of humor. He also served in the United States Marine Corps from January 1981 until January 1989.
Gayron attended All Friend Missionary Baptist Church, where he rededicated his life to Christ. His mission was to act as an instrument of positive change in the lives of his family, friends and co-workers. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching sports, spending time with his family, and taking hunting trips with his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Shackelford; Stepfather, Albert Pitts (Rhonda); Mother-in-law, Mary Bronson; Sur'rogate Moth'er, Martha Johnson (Robert); One brother, Tony Shackelford; Two Sisters, Robin Shackelford, Jennifer Harris (Khani); two stepchildren, two-step grandchildren and an adored cousin, Gloria Montgomery. Gayron is also survived by a host of nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
He loved and cherished his family, ralatives and friends very much.
