Gaynard J Hardebeck
81, passed away Oct. 3, 2012 in Indianapolis. Gaynard was born July 15, 1931 in Kokomo Indiana to Casper John Hardebeck and Mary Josephine Eder Hardebeck. The youngest of eight children, he was preceded in death by his parents and siblings – brothers Clifford and Maurice, Robert (Guadalupe), Father Donald; and sisters Dorothy, Irene Kuntz, and Doris (Ray) Hellmann. Two sons, Gregory and Charles, also preceded him in death.
Gaynard is survived by his wife, Amaryllis Ann (Amy), with whom he'd have celebrated 60 years of marriage on October 11, and their children: Cheryl (David) Craig, Maureen (Dennis) Sanner, Suzanne (Kevin) Riley, Valerie (Steve) Goodwin, and David (Tammy) all of Indianapolis; Steve (Lori) of Raleigh NC, Mary (Jerry) Burk of Fowler, Eric (Andrea) of New Palestine, John of West Lafayette, 22 grandchildren, 4 great grandsons and brother-in-law Ralph Kuntz.
His finance career spanned 40 years across Indiana and Illinois. He retired from Peoples Bank & Trust in 1996 after 23 years of service as Bank Branch Manager and Assistant Vice President. He was an active member of Holy Spirit Church for 30 years. His retirement years were focused on spending time with his loving family. His hobbies included camping, gardening, listening to music in his recliner, spending time with his children and grandchildren, sharing DQ treats and enjoying family dinners. He loved Amy's pies.
The family acknowledges the staff of ManorCare Indy South for their care of Gaynard the past 2 years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson's Association, St. Vincent de Paul or the American Cancer Society.
Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 PM Friday at Flanner and Buchanan – Memorial Park 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis with the Holy Rosary at 7:30. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday at Nativity Catholic Church, 7225 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
