Gayle Perry

Gayle Cole Perry Age 101, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 peacefully in her sleep, at Berkshire of Castleton. A celebration of her life will be held at 10 AM, Thursday Feb 28th at Berkshire, 8480 Craig St. Gayle was born Nov. 16th 1911 to Charles and Anna (Richardson) Cole in Mitchell IN, she was the oldest of four daughters. She graduated from Mitchell High School. Gayle was a graduate nurse from The Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in Louisville KY, where she met and married her husband Charles A Perry. Gayle had a long career in nursing from private duty to a teaching hospital in Oak Park, IL.to finishing her career as an Industrial nurse for Chrysler Corporation, where she worked in both Indianapolis and Detroit, MI. Gayle loved to spend time with her family and friends at her home on Lake Charlevoix. In retirement she moved to Miramar FL. and enjoyed the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico and again enjoyed a wonderful life with family and friends. She is survived by her children and spouses; Charles (Quincey) Perry of Indianapolis, Susan (Mark) Babb of Bloomfield Hills, MI; grandchildren Charles (Nancy) Perry of Carmel, IN.; John Perry of Indianapolis IN., Sarah Babb of Elkhart Lake WI., and six great grandchildren , Alexandria, Charles, Lily, Lila, Nicholas, and Katie Jane ; sister Wanda Sweeney and numerous nieces and nephews. Gayle was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles, her parents and two sisters. A private burial will be held later at St. Simon by The Sea Episcopal Church in Ft. Walton Beach FL.
