Gary Francis Weiler, age 86, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026. A resident of Carmel, Indiana and formerly from Woodstock, Maryland. Gary was born in Watertown, Minnesota.
He was a master's graduate from George Washington University, served in the US Air Force, and Air Force Reserve and spent his career as an engineer for the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, Maryland.
He was married to Patricia Anne Weiler (Perrotti) from Cheshire, Connecticut for 57 years until her passing in 2020. After he retired, he lived with his wife in Woodstock, Maryland where they had many friends.
He enjoyed golfing, playing guitar, and was an extremely talented watercolor artist. When not on the golf course, he enjoyed weekly dinners at Pasta Plus and lunches at Shannon's but his favorite thing to do was to spend time with his granddaughter Riley and hear all about cheerleading and volleyball.
He spent his final years as a resident of the Rose Senior Living in Carmel where he quickly became a staff favorite, enjoyed making friends, Wine Wednesdays and weekly live music.
He is survived by his daughter Wendy Smith, son-in-law Howard Smith and granddaughter Riley Smith, also his sisters Kathy Price and Sue Weiler, and brothers Greg Weiler (sister-in-law Noelle Weiler) and Paul Weiler.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Gary's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
