Gary W. Bippus, 64, passed away on April 5, 2015, after a brief illness. Gary was born on November 8, 1950, in Evansville, Indiana. He attended Evansville North High School, Indiana State University, and the Indiana University School of Law Indianapolis, Gary was preceded in death by his parents, William and Irma Bippus; and his brother, Richard Bippus. Gary is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Brad (Julie) Armstrong, Emily (Andy) Hutcherson, and Molly (James) Armstrong; 13 grandchildren; nephews, David and Steve Bippus; and many other nieces and nephews. Gary was an incredible husband, step-father, grandpa, uncle and friend. He was always the steady rock you could count on to be level headed in any situation and always found the positive aspects in everything. He was a partner at the law firm of Ricos, Bippus and Ralph. Gary served as the Warren Township Small Claims Court Judge, a Deputy Attorney General, an Administrative Law Judge with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, and most recently an attorney with the City Legal Division. He was a well-respected member of the bar with an impeccable reputation for being fair. Gary was a member of St. John United Church of Christ where he served in many leadership roles. He served on the Board of Directors of the Hawthorne Community Center for over 30 years. He loved going to the symphony theater, the 500 mile race and the movies. Calling will be held on Wednesday, April 8th, from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm at St. John United Church of Christ, 11000 East Washington Street, Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held at the Church on Thursday, April 9th at 11:00 am, with additional calling one hour prior.
