Gary Wayne Mueller

Gary Wayne Mueller, 78, of Indianapolis Indiana, passed away on May 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of family. Gary was born on March 28, 1948, to Walter and Eathel May (Poe) Mueller. After the early death of Mr. Mueller, his mom married Edward Thacher, whom Gary really loved. Mr. Thacher was Gary’s ally and often helped save him from his mother’s threat of a whipping.

Gary married Teresa and to this union was born a son, Eric Mueller. Gary and Teresa were later divorced. Eric grew up and went on to marry his wife, Tammy. To this union, two beautiful daughters were born: Abbigail Mueller and Alexandria Mueller. Abbigail has three children, La’Niah Mueller, Jayonn Mueller and Na’Kari Muller Warren.

After Gary lost his mother, he and his dad became two self-professed “junk foodies”! Louise would often cook for them and following the death of Mr. Thacher, Gary asked Louise to move in with him. She agreed, and the two remained together until the time of Gary’s passing.

Gary was a devoted sports fan whose passion for the game was only matched by his love for the Indianapolis Colts. He could recall player statistics with remarkable ease. Though he enjoyed the excitement of sports, Gary was happiest at home, spending time with the love of his life, Louise.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Walt Mueller and Eathel May Poe; his older brother, Doug; and his cousin, Michael Andrews.

Left to mourn Gary are his loving fiancé, Louise Brown; son, Eric Mueller; his brother, Alan Snively along with his wife, Judy Snively, his sons, Chip and Kirk, and his grandkids; Doug’s kids, Dougie, Peggy, Karen, and Stevie; grandchildren: Abbigail Mueller and Alexandria Mueller; great-grandchildren: La’Niah Mueller, Jayonn Mueller, and Na’Kari Mueller Warren; his cousin Michael’s wife, Rosemary; as well as many other loving friends and family.

Visitation for Gary will take place Friday May 29, 2026, from 11:00am-12:00pm at Flanner Buchanan - Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 12:00pm.
