Gary Michael "Butch" Crocker

Westfield, Indiana

Gary Michael “Butch” Crocker, 81, of Westfield passed away November 5, 2022.  He was born December 29, 1940, in Evansville, the son of the late Harpy Elijah and Lottie Belle (Cade) Crocker.  He married his high school sweetheart, Susan Eastwood, on September 7, 1968.

Gary proudly and honorably served in the Intelligence Division of the United States Army.  Upon returning from his station in England, he continued to serve his country in the Army Reserves.  He retired from DeLuxe Check Printers after 34 years of service in the sales department.  He was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, American Legion, and lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited.  He was an avid outdoorsman, looked forward to his Saturday tradition of tacos and movies, and he loved being with his family especially when cheering on his granddaughter Lexi.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Susan Crocker; daughter, Cathleen J. (Todd) Short; granddaughter, Evelyn Alexis “Lexi” Martin; four step-grandchildren, Amber Smith, Abbey Kennelly, Caroline Short, and Avery Short; two sisters, Lyndia Kuykendall and Jane Crocker (Tom) Everett; cousin, Jan Carter; and two nephews and three nieces.  He was preceded in passing by his son, Gary Mitchell Crocker; and sister, Judy DeSanto.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 4780 East 126th Street.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society for Hamilton County or Wounded Warrior Project.  Arrangements were entrusted to Flanner Buchanan – Carmel.  Online condolences may be shared by visiting www.flannerbuchanan.com.
