Gary Lee Stevenson

Gary Lee Stevenson, age 61, of Spencer, Indiana passed away on Monday afternoon, May 19, 2025, at Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle, Indiana.

Gary was born on November 14, 1963, at Saint Francis Beech Grove Hospital in Indianapolis Indiana, the son of Bobby Joe Stevenson and Ethel (Humfleet) Stevenson. 

Gary was raised in Indianapolis all the way through his schooling and then relocated to Spencer. Gary was a concert driver for 10+ years, then drove a dump truck for a number of years. When he retired, he worked for the Owen County trustees, mowing cemeteries and the community center. 

He was a lover of the outdoors and running his beagle dogs, and when it got too cold to run dogs you could find him in his favorite chair watching his westerns, and the news. Gary was a lover for his family and took such pride and joy in his family. Gary took pride in what he had, and you could always find him taking adventures with his wife and his grand dog Axe. His wife, and his children were very special to him, and he will leave wonderful memories for them to share.

Gary is survived by his wife Missy Stevenson, his father Bobby Joe, son Waylon Collins (Wendy), his daughter Maddi Figg, his son Parker Stevenson (Hailey), his sister Debra Geralds, his nephew Chris Geralds (Wendy) and so many great nieces and nephews.

His mother Ethel Stevenson preceded him in death on October 6, 2016.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township, located at 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46221.

Gary's funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM.

Burial will follow at West Newton Cemetery.
