Gary L. Tarter

Gary L. Tarter Of Indianapolis, IN passed away on October 8, 2014. He was born to Charles and Irene Tarter. Gary worked for UPS and retired in 1999. He was a sports car enthusiast and was a member of the Indiana/Kentucky Viper Club. Gary enjoyed many hobbies including watching NASCAR, playing golf and reading anything sci-fic related. His true passion in life was being a hot air balloon pilot, which he enjoyed over 3 decades. Gary will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Linda Tarter; son, Gary A. Tarter; sister, Natalie (Kevin) Joyce; aunt, Mary Tarter Somma and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Tarter. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 5pm-8pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN, with a Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, October 16, 2014 beginning at 12pm.
