Gary Lee Gist

Gary Lee Gist, 63, passed away at his home on September 17, 2023.

He was born December 11, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to George and Opal Gist.

Gary was a loving father, husband, and friend. He loved life and all those around him. He never knew a stranger, always making new friends. He loved to go ice fishing with his friends and son. He liked to take trips with his family. The biggest love of his life was his granddaughter who he loved more than life. Gary worked for Action Equipment Sales for many years and had planned to retire from Action. He loved his Chevy 350 Sport and called her Sue.

Gary was active in constant change to our home and took care of all the household duties. He also learned the art of smoking meats on his smoker and having family dinner every Sunday.

He is survived by his loving wife, Daphne; daughter, Heather Kimsey, son, Weston Gist (Lacey Gist), Granddaughter Skyler Jordyn Reed, brother, Greg Gist (Charlotte Gist) and his sister Lisa Hubbard (Doug Hubbard).

He was preceded in death by; His father, George Gist and mother Opal Gist

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Memorial contribution in his name may be made to St Jude Children’s Foundation.
