Gary Forest Clelland, 68 of Stevenson, Washington, passed away on Monday August 2, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 14, 1953 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Forest Glenn and Betty Jean Clelland. Gary served in the US Navy from 1973 to 1977. He was a man of faith, spending much of his time doing his devotions, reading his bible, and praying. At the age of 38, Gary went back to school to get his Master of Divinity from George Fox Evangelical Seminary. He preached at church, and performed several weddings including his brother, daughter, and nephew.
Gary was an avid collector of coins and stamps. He loved working on his cars, especially his prized 1992 Toyota Tacoma. Gary loved the arts; watching movies, plays, and musicals. He loved tending to and weeding his yard, it looked like a golf green.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of nearly 20 years, Vickie Lynn Hopkins Clelland; brother, Michael (Beth) Clelland; children, Rachel (Scott) Duthie, Alan (Angela) Jenson, Rebecca (Daniel) Giese; grandchildren, Aubree, Kaeleigh, Jacob, Carrie, Thaddeus, Tiger Lily, and Maddox; and one great grandbaby on the way; nephew, Bradley (Connie) Clelland; great nephews, Landin and Liam; great niece, Aubrey; and his fur babies, Lexus and Cyrus. He is preceded in passing by his in laws, Kenneth and Mary Ann Hopkins; and nephew, Barney Hinzman; and son, Joshua Forest Clelland.
Military honors will be rendered crypt side on Thursday August 12, 2021 at 10:00 am at Washington Park East Cemetery (10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229). Memorial contributions may be made to Voice of the Martyrs.
