Frederick H. Robbins, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away July 30th, 2026. He was born on July 28th, 1940, to Joseph and Grace (Wasson) Robbins.
Fred graduated from Wood High School.
In his early years he worked at a duck pin bowling alley in Fountain Square. In 1967, he became employed at Rand McNally, working in the plate room until his retirement in 1994.
During his time at Rand McNally, Fred met the love of his life, June. They were married on St. Patrick’s Day, 1976 and have shared 50 years together.
Fred was a strong, loving gentleman. He and June loved to travel, taking yearly trips to Hawaii. He was a talented bowler, participating in several leagues. In his free time, Fred liked watching westerns, admiring cars, or relaxing with a cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin.
He is survived by his wife June; children Cindy and Fredrick (Tina) Robbins; stepchildren Earl (Chris), Mark, Paul (Marcy), and Gary Sulzberger, Mary (John) Humphrey, and Ruth Sulzberger; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, sister Geraldine Lester; and many other loving step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; stepson Kurt Sulzberger; and siblings William, Teddy, Mary, Thelma, Phylis, and Virginia.
Fred’s visitation will be Saturday August 8th, from 11-1pm, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East. His funeral will begin at 1pm. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East.
