Frederick Andrew Eicks, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away May 19th, 2024. Fred was born April 3rd, 1942, in Indianapolis to parents John and Lela (Robbins) Eicks.
He grew up in Indianapolis, and graduated from Arsenal Tech high school.
Fred proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1961-1966.
On February 12th, 1966, he married the love of his life, Janet. They shared 58 wonderful years together.
Fred worked in the plumbing industry for over 43 years, 25 of which, he owned his own company Imperial Plumbing Inc.
Fred was a strong, loving gentleman. He was a valued member of the Beech Grove American Legion, VFW, and the Eagles. He served as the president of the Eagles for 2 years and volunteered at the legion and VFW as often as he could. He and Janet loved to travel, enjoyed many cruises and trips to Vegas. They spent their winters in Florida, and later in life, moved to Florida full time. Fred was passionate about his children’s and grandchildren’s little league teams. He coached and served as the president of the Lowell Little League for many years. Fred adored his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his wife Janet Eicks; children Andrea Eicks Massey (Roy), Frederick Eicks (Marsha); grandchildren Ashley Eicks, Lyndsey Massey, Paige Markovitz (Eric), Connor Eicks, Kris Massey; great-grandchildren Jordan, Kamiron, and Silas; siblings Dorothy McGinnis (The Late Albert), and Janet Tyree (Dale).
He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Edwina Bell (Claude), Elizabeth Dickie (Paul), Ruth Morgan (Charlie), Ada Long (Harold), John Eicks (Joyce) and Don Eicks (Sue).
Visitation for Fred will be Thursday May 23rd, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, from 11-1pm. His funeral will begin at 1pm. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
