Frederick Charles Jogi

FREDERICK CHARLES JOGI, 85, was promoted to glory on Thursday, October 29, 2015 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on the 1st of November, 1929. Frederick studied in Nizam College, Hyderabad, India and earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He then completed his teacher training certification in Bombay, and taught at St. Xaviers College. Later, he moved to Ethiopia, and worked in Chencha and Addis Ababa from 1959-1966 where he taught Sciences and Mathematics. In 1966, he moved to Zambia with family where he worked at the David Livingstone Teacher Training College in Livingstone, Zambia as vice-principal, and trained teachers while holding various administrative posts. He spear-headed a variety of improvement and developmental projects. He was very inspirational to people he worked with in Zambia, till his retirement in 1987 when he moved back to India. A few years later, he immigrated to the United States.
He is preceded in death by his mother Helen, his father Abraham and his brother Arthur Jogi. He is survived by his wife, Susheela Agnes (Ebenezer) Jogi, daughter Sumana Naomi Jogi, daughter Sneha Rachael (Rohit) Saridena, son Santhosh Abraham (Christine) Jogi, his sister Evelyn D. Kurut, sister-in-law Dr. Esther Sarojini Ebenezer, grandsons Shayaan and Rohaan Saridena, and granddaughter Zahara Lily Jogi.
Frederick Jogi was a born again Christian, and a strong man of faith. He worked as a lay missionary in Africa, and served as a church elder working to support and strengthen the church in Africa, India and the United States. He was sincere, talented, diligent and caring. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, brother-in-law, uncle, grandfather, friend and colleague. He loved his family, and his interests were helping people, reading, cooking, gardening, music and worshipping God.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Market Street, 623 E. College St., Indianapolis. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, 1505 N. Delaware St., Indianapolis. Burial to follow at Washington Park North Cemetery, Indianapolis. Memorial donations in Mr. Jogis memory can be made to the family. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home as well as the church.
