Fred O. Rice, Jr. 67, of Indianapolis, Indiana went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 18, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
Fred was born March 2, 1951 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Fred O. Rice Sr. and Frances Evelen Rice. They relocated to Indianapolis in his teen years, and he graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1969. He worked as a piano tuner and technician for over 40 years and was a former member of the Piano Technician Guild. He was also a member of the Caring Place. He was an avid sports fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his wife of 26 years Rita E. Rice; daughter Amber Dawn Rosenberg (husband Jacob and their children Evelen, Lincoln, and Everett), son Eric Grill (wife Michelle and their children Nathan and Alyssa and her husband Jason); and daughter Ann Miller (husband Josh and their children Ethan, Caden, and McKenzie); and brother Levi Rice (wife Cheryl); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 24 from 12 to 3 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St, Indianapolis with a Funeral Service beginning at 3 PM. He will be laid to rest at Waterloo Cemetery in Waterloo, Indiana at a later date.
