Fred M. Thornburgh, 75, passed away February 16, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospice.
He was born November 12, 1937 in Martinsville, Illinois the son of the late Grace Rebecca (Ratts) and Noah Miller Thornburgh.
Fred grew up as a farmer in Martinsville, IL and had worked at Velsicol Chemical Corp. in Marshall, Illinois. He moved to Indiana in 1987 and had various jobs before his retirement. Fred enjoyed racing mostly NASCAR and was a long time member of the Fraternal Order of the Moose, Speedway. Fred's life was his family and enjoying all the grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his son, Eddie Allen Thornburgh, (wife-Elizabeth); two daughters, Cecilia Marie Culp and Hope Lynn Scott, (husband-Brian); son-in-law, Michael Culp;five grandchildren, Mark Scott, Nicholas Evans, James Culp, (wife-Tennille), Ryan Culp, (Victoria Gurrola), and JoDee Scott, (fiancé-Jordan Templeton; five great grandchildren, Jarod Barnes, Jackson Scott, Jayla Templeton, Bianca Culp, and Jemma Evans.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn (VanArsdale) Thornburgh and a brother, Willard Thornburgh.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan- Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
