Frank Mack' Alexander, Jr.

Frank M. “Mack” Alexander, Jr., 96 of Indianapolis, IN was born September 28, 1920 and passed away December 22, 2016. He was born in Americus, GA to Frank M. and Ella Jane Smith Alexander. After graduating from high school, Mack served in the US Army Air Corp. during WW II. He was a Prisoner of War. In 1970, he moved to Indianapolis to work for Dixon Tom-A-Toe. He retired after 51 years of service. He then worked for Allied Equipment, retiring at the age of 85. He enjoyed fishing, card games and was a prankster. He was very involved in POW meetings, reunions and events. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was also involved with feeding the homeless.

In addition to his parents, Mack is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys and son-in-law, Don Sprinkle. Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Mack Alexander, Tommy Alexander, Timmy (Brooke) Alexander, Sandy Sprinkle, Sharon (Melvin) Barger, Dianna (Ron) Melton and Madonna (Dennie) Key, 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit from 4-8 PM, Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan – Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis 46222. The funeral service with Military Honors will be at 1 PM Wednesday at Floral Park. Contributions may be made in Mack’s name to the Wounded Warriors Project.
