Francis Piper

August 30, 1932 — January 22, 2014

Francis Robert Piper Came in the world on August 30, 1932 and received the "Ultimate Gift of Life" when he returned home to Jesus on January 22, 2014. His "Pretty Sweetheart" of 59 years, Mary Therese Piper (Teri) and his 10 Children and spouses; Gary(Laurie) , Greg( Angie), Jean (Collin), Rob (Jennifer), John ( Anna), Anne ( Darryl),Tim( Melanie), Maureen( Ken), Joe( Renee) & Pat(Rene), along with his 32 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, will cherish the memories and his spirit for life, until they are all reunited again in heaven. His time here was full of achievements, not only in family and business but in the lives of others that he and Teri touched. His work in the logistics industry as Operation Manager starting in 1957, included NY Central Car Carries, Schreiber Trucking Interstate Transportation, Central Transport, Alamo Express & Whiteford Trucking, then started his own business, FRP Transportation in 1987. He then passed the baton to his sons who carry on in his tradition. As a committed Christian, his home and heart were always open to everyone, including foster children in hopes of giving them a new chance at life. One of great passions was deep fishing for Marlin and Grouper with his sons. He was an avid gardener, especially to any plant that called itself a "Rose", which Teri sometimes questioned. His life was full of honor as he served our country during the Korean War. He joined the American Legion and the American Flag always flew over his home. He stayed committed to the principles of freedom, never forgetting those who served as he did; making sure that the charity (Wounded Warriors) always received his charitable gratitude until the day he died. Friends may call at Holy Spirit Geist 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, IN from 11am-2pm following Funeral Mass at 2pm Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Francis Robert Piper or lovingly referred to as "DAD", "Daddy", "Pop" and "Papa", will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
