Francis N. "Tanny" Ward, 90 of Mooresville, IN passed away July 1, 2015.He was born May 12, 1925 in Reynolds, Indiana to the late Nathan and Alice(Click) Ward. Tanny worked in Skilled Trades as a Mailer for the Indianapolis Star retiring in 1988 and previously the Indianapolis Times for 18 years prior to them ceasing business. He served faithfully in the U S Army Air Corps during World War II .Tanny loved working with wood and each of his children and grandchildren cherish the, pieces of furniture he built for them. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, karaoke and watching sports. A true family man he enjoyed being surrounded by his family on all holidays but especially on Labor Day. He is survived by his wife, Doris (Myers) Ward, children, Steve (Connie)Ward, Stan (Carol) Ward, Sue (Joe) Griffith, Phil (Deb) Ward, Alicia (Brian) Craig, Cathy (Dr. Dan) Wendorff, Mark (Heather) Ward, 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, sisters, Mary Schlegemilch, Kathryn Stockdale and a brother, Dan Ward. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Bob Ward. Service will be held Monday, July 6, 2015 10:30 AM at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church 6341 Mann Road Indianapolis, IN where he was a member and served as a deacon, with visitation there 1 hour prior to the service. Additional visitation will be held on Sunday July 5th 2-6 PM at Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur Township. He will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens-Whitestown, IN
